I Adore Chinoise

I have a serious flower crush on Aileen Tran‘s designs.  Her aesthetic is lush, elegant and sensual and very dressy, yet organic.  My flower pet peeve is when designers use unnatural elements to embellish blossoms. Wire, bling, plastic, beads, mesh. Get it away from me!  Locally, thats a huge trend that I honestly despise.

This tablescape, featuring Chinoise ceramics and white flowers, is the perfect choice for a summer fete. I love how all of the elements communicate a cool, airy day, which is something I long for now that the Florida temperatures have officially reached blazing status.   My mom has a pair of Chinoise urns that she has always incorporated into her interiors. Perhaps that nostalgia is fueling my love for this spread?  I also love Aileen’s use of a Chinese flower in Chinoise. Clever girl.
